Barossa Valley icon Château Tanunda has been recognised on the national stage, taking out South Australian Wine Exporter of the Year at the 2025 South Australian Premier’s Business and Export Awards.
The award acknowledges Château Tanunda’s outstanding success in international markets and its continued commitment to showcasing premium South Australian wine to the world. With exports reaching more than 30 countries, the winery has built a strong global reputation for quality, consistency and authenticity, firmly positioning the Barossa Valley as one of Australia’s most respected wine regions.
Founded in 1890, Château Tanunda is one of the Barossa’s most historic wineries, known for its stewardship of old-vine vineyards and its focus on traditional winemaking techniques alongside modern innovation. The Exporter of the Year award reflects not only commercial success, but also the winery’s ability to communicate regional identity, provenance and craftsmanship to international consumers.
In recent years, Château Tanunda has seen strong growth across key export markets including the United States, Europe and Asia, supported by a diverse portfolio ranging from everyday Barossa classics through to premium and ultra-premium expressions. The winery’s participation in global trade events, targeted market development and long-term distributor partnerships were all cited as contributing factors to its success.
For Australian wine lovers, the award reinforces Château Tanunda’s standing as a benchmark producer — a winery that continues to champion South Australian wine on the world stage while remaining deeply connected to its Barossa roots.
LG Wine & Liquor congratulates Château Tanunda on this outstanding achievement.
